Original Artwork
Rich crimson blooms, a patterned ceramic jug, bright lemons and a hit of cobalt blue come together in Scarlet & Citrus – a colourful contemporary still life painted loosely and expressively on natural linen.
I love the contrast of the deep reds against the fresh citrus and blue, with the pattern of the jug adding another layer to the mix.
A LITTLE BACKSTORY
The flowers were gathered from Tatiana’s garden in Canyonleigh in the Southern Highlands. Their deep crimson colour was too good not to paint, and became the starting point for this arrangement of pattern, lemons and bold colour.
